Account & Data Deletion Guide

Effective Date: May 1, 2026 | Last Updated: May 1, 2026

Finoral is committed to your privacy. You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time, completely and permanently. This document explains what data is deleted, how to do it, and what to expect.

1. What Gets Deleted

Immediately upon deletion:

  • Your Firebase authentication account (login credentials)
  • Your cloud-stored profile data (name, email, subscription status)
  • All local financial data on the device (transactions, goals, categories, notes)
  • All locally stored images and receipt photos
  • Your subscription and AI credit records

Retained temporarily (3 months):

  • An anonymized, non-reversible hash of your email address — used solely to prevent fraudulent re-registration abuse. This cannot be used to identify you.

Not deleted by us (managed by third parties):

  • Your Google account — managed at myaccount.google.com
  • Your Facebook account — managed at facebook.com/settings
  • Your Apple ID — managed at appleid.apple.com
  • Purchase records — retained by Apple App Store / Google Play per their policies

2. How to Delete Your Account

Method A: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

This is the easiest and most complete method. It works on both iOS and Android.

  1. Open Finoral on your device
  2. Tap the Profile icon (bottom navigation)
  3. Tap Settings (gear icon, top right)
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
  5. Read the confirmation message carefully
  6. Tap Delete Account to confirm
  7. Your account and all data will be permanently deleted

Note: If your session has expired, you may be prompted to sign in again before deletion can proceed. This is a security measure.

Method B: Web Request

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to: privacy@finoral.app
  2. Subject line: Account Deletion Request
  3. Include: the email address associated with your Finoral account
  4. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by email
